A Water Fest
After the water shortages we’ve experienced earlier this year, methods of water conservation and information about horticulture that can withstand such conditions are of great interest. Fran Shaw, Master Gardener and our own Garden Club member, will present "Native Plants that Survive Florida Summers and Drought", followed by a presentation on "Rain Barrels" by Fred Burkey, Multi-County Extension Agent, Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Programs, Martin/St. Lucie Cooperative Extension Service.

Following the Lewis and Clark Trail
Two local Master Gardeners, Tony and Florence Chatowsky, will share their marvelous experience when they pursued the route these famous early explorers took across our great nation. The Chatowskys focus on the flora and fauna they saw during their trek, some of which surely were native to the areas they passed through.

Lifestyles of Butterflies in the Garden
Growing interest in the establishment of gardens which attract butterflies is evidenced by our Club’s participation in FFGC’s Butterfly Sanctuary Certification Program, as well as the newly established butterfly gardens the Club is sponsoring at Bessey Creek and Hospice. An expert on the subject, Alana Edwards, of Environmental Studies Education and Training at Florida Atlantic University, will deliver delightful comments and show us some of these marvels of nature.
