The Garden Club of Stuart plants a tree in honor of Jane Thurlow, long time member and past President.



The Garden Club of Stuart's President, Joan Wilcox, accepts Stuart Mayor Mary Hutchinson's proclamation of National Garden Week for 2007.

At the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs Convention held in Orlando, members of the Garden Club of Stuart, Inc. received top awards and honors including a National Award for one of the Junior Gardeners.

Bea Cooper, a District Floral Judge, was one 12 judges to be honored in the District Invitational Designs. Her design titled "Kissed by the Sun" was spectacular.

The Garden Club took top award in the district for the 2005-2006 Yearbook compiled and designed by Lauren Palmero.

Louise White was awarded the Leona Venettozzi Collection Award for her collection of Crotons. This is the second time Louise has won this award.

Tim Crighton, Junior Gardener from Bessey Creek Elementary School was awarded the Smokey Bear Woodsy Owl Award for his poster design. The members of the Garden Club of Stuart competed with hundreds of other garden clubs from across the state.





President Donna Berger and past President Virginia Maloney were presented with the Environmental Stewardship Award for our club's work at ARC (Advocates for the Rights of the Challenged) by Keep Martin Beautiful.

Woman of the Year Award

The "Woman of the Year" Award is presented annually to a member, other than an officer, in appreciation for outstanding service during the current club year. Accomplishments may extend over a number of years but should be prominent in the present award year. Written nominations are due the first of March.

Community Service Award

Endowed by May M. Bickmann, The Garden Club of Stuart, Inc., Community Service Award is given annually to a woman in Martin County who has provided leadership and service consistent with the aims of The Garden Club of Stuart, Inc., The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and The National Council of State Garden Clubs. The recipient need not be a member of The Garden Club of Stuart, Inc.

Nominations must be presented, in writing, to the President during the club year but not later than the March meeting. Selection of the recipient is made by a committee of the President and two Past Presidents. The award is announced at the annual meeting.

FFGC Hall of Fame

The FFGC HALL OF FAME recognition may be awarded to an individual for contributions of time and/or talents to the club, community or to some phase of garden club activity by a Club, Circle, District, Board of Directors, Judges Council, Landscape Critics or other groups affiliated with the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs.

Pillar of Pride Award

A Pillar of Pride is a very special honor that can be given to a member of a garden club who has shown purpose, pride and productivity for progress towards the aims and objectives of FFGC. This honor can be given by a Club, Circle or District.
